Welcome to my personal site which I have named Proclaiming HOPE in the Cape of Good Hope . Sounds like a mouthful ? Well, this site exists as an extension to the ministry work that I am so privileged to do here in Cape Town and beyond. The site also serves as a repository for some theological reflections on the Bible and Life in God's world.

My name is Tawanda. I am married to Shupi and together God has blessed us with 4 kids, including our dear son Andile who is now with the Lord. We live in the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa where we serve university and college students under SIM South Africa, in partnership with Cross Central Church in Parow. I also serve with SIM International as Pillar Coordinator for Student Ministry globally under Engaging the University Ministry [EtU]. I am currently undertaking some post-graduate studies with Stellenbosch University and have been enjoying the opportunity to be stretched and challenged in my theological thinking.

I have been serving in student ministry since 2010 and over the years I have had the privilege to serve students in various contexts including my home country Zimbabwe, Australia, and now South Africa. I had the opportunity to do ministry apprenticeship with the Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students [AFES] in Sydney [2010-11], then served with FOCUS Zimbabwe in Harare [2011-2014] and later did my theological studies at Moore Theological College in Sydney [2015-2018], after-which I served in student ministry again with FOCUS in Bulawayo before joining SIM in 2020. In 2020, I was involved in setting up the Evangelical Students Network [ESN] at the National University of Science at Technology in Zimbabwe and I had the priviledge to lead the ministry till November 2024 when we relocated from Zimbabwe.

I have a deep desire for the faithful preaching of God's word and it has been my priviledge and honour to coordinate and lead the TGCZ Preachers annual preachers conference in Zimbabwe since 2016. This growing network brings together preachers from various denomination and each year we spend time digging into a particular book of the Bible.
​
My passion and goal is to see students and young adults grasping the truth of God's word and being shaped by it. I regularly preach at Cross Central Church Parow and I am deeply convinced about expository, gospel centred preaching which I aim to do.
​
When I am not doing ministry, I love to explore my hobby of beekeeping and the production of pure natural honey.
